Pinecrest Summer

When I first began collecting reference material for this "memories" painting, I had no idea how interesting the fishing scene at Pinecrest Lake could be. I've walked past the fisher-people for years without much thought (except irritation with the few irresponsible ones who leave trash behind). But when I considered them as painting subjects, I saw treasure. What a lovely way to spend the morning or afternoon...or all day! Most groups fishing are families of all ages, spending that time with each other. This piece represents a friend's mom and dad. Mom always wore her orange life-vest, even when not on a boat. She embroidered tea-towels while he fished.
