A painting is more than just a pretty face. Each has a story behind it, a reason for being. And if you are drawn to an artwork, that story probably connects with your own life-experience. Here's the view from my end of the brush! --Shona Macomber

Valentine Season
Shots of red and pink around Valentine's Day are well-timed. In our area February is usually very muted... greys, purples, dusky greens. Then the hills begin to turn brilliant, saturated green thanks to a good amount of rain and a decent dose of sunlight. The effect is similar to the happy jolts of color we bring into our homes. The result? Red and pink cheer inside, glorious praise outside. Just the encouragement we need to finish up winter and enter into the renewal of spring.
